Piazza Repubblica
In the rare event of bad weather in Rome you can visit the largest
cinema in Rome - the "Warner Bros Moderno" - which features
at least one film in English each day. The cinema and many more
attractions are located just around the corner from the Zara Hotel
Roma in the "Piazza Republicca".
All of Rome's most famous attractions are within walking distance
of the Zara Hotel Roma - although to reach the Vatican and St. Peter's
we suggest taking the number 64 bus which will drop you off directly
outside St. Peters.
Directions
The hotels proximity to the main air terminals and Termini station
(15 minutes walk) make it the ideal hotel for those arriving to
Rome by air or rail.
Arriving by Train
Almost all trains including the Leonardo Express Train from the
airport and the Ciampino Train or Terravision bus service all arrive
at Termini railway station. The Zara Hotel Roma is within easy walking
distance provided you don't have too many bags (the distance from
the station to the hotel is 700 metres).
Alternatively you can take the bus numbers 64 or 40 from directly
in front of the station in the large square Piazza dei Cinque Cento
and get off after 2 stops in Via Nazionale at the start of the Via
delle Quattro Fontane. If you take the bus be careful as the number
64 was until recently know as the pick pocket express. Things have
improved recently thanks to the presence of undercover cops - however
you never know and it pays to keep your wits about you!
You can also reach the Zara Hotel Roma by taking the Metro Line
A in the direction of "Ottaviano-San Pietro" and getting
off at the first stop "Republicca" - named after the Piazza
Republicca which is located at the start of Via Nazionale (Piazza
Republicca is a huge round square with a large fountain in the centre,
formerly known as the Piazza Exedra).
Arriving by Plane
Most international flights and some
major European carriers arrive at Fiumicino Leonardo Da
Vinci airport. Take the airport express train the "Leonardo"
shuttle train up to the Termini station and then follow
the indications above.
Low cost flights and many charters arrive at Ciampino airport,
which despite being closer to Rome is a little more tricky to reach
the centre. You can either take the Terravision shuttle bus (recommended)
and then walk to the hotel Zara from Termini station or follow the
above instructions "arriving by train". You could also
take a taxi which should only cost around 35 euro from Ciampino
(a taxi from Fiumicino is about 50 Euro).
There is also public transport service from Ciampino airport which
involves taking a bus from the airport to the railway station Ciampino
or the Metro Stop Anagnina on line A. the local train runs from
5:30 am to 10:30 pm every 20 minutes. The metro Line A stops running
at 9:30 pm so if your flight arrives in the evening the Terravision
shuttle bus is probably your best bet.
